At Precision Orthopaedics, we are committed to provide the highest quality, patient-centered orthopaedic care to the Manawatu region.

Established in 2024 following Dr. Peter Schneider’s departure from Aorangi Orthopaedics, our practice was launched as a solo venture and quickly evolved in response to the complexities of insurance, ACC funding, hospital coordination and surgical logistics. These challenges shaped our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Our multidisciplinary team is led by Dr. Peter Schneider - our skilled Orthopaedic Surgeon and includes two friendly administrators, two experienced anaesthetists, and dedicated surgical assistants. Together, we are refining every stage of your care - from referral to recovery using modern technology to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes. Our mission is to improve mobility and quality of life for New Zealanders through respectful, compassionate care rooted in Christian values. Dr. Peter Schneider FRCS

Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon

Hello and welcome, I’m Dr Peter Schneider, the Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgeon at Precision Orthopaedics. During my Trauma training, I spent six months in the Intensive Care Unit at Landstuhl Regional Medical Centre, a U.S. military hospital in Germany caring for wounded soldiers returning from the war zone. Meet Helen! She has over 20 years of experience in health administration, and brings a wealth of knowledge, warmth, and professionalism to Precision Orthopaedics. Her career has been shaped by meaningful interactions and the satisfaction of helping patients navigate their healthcare journey.

Helen is known for her bubbly and outgoing personality, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure every patient feels supported and informed. Her role focuses on coordinating appointments and surgery schedules, ensuring communication is always prompt, clear, and compassionate.

Kari Schneider

Officer Manager

Hi, I’m Kari! Originally from Columbus, Ohio, I began my career in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller, later transitioning into Information Management. Over 20 years, I gained valuable experience supporting top-ranking officials and built a strong foundation in executive administration.

After retiring in 2012, I worked in various administrative roles across legal, dental, and healthcare sectors – including Personal Assistant to Foreclosure Lawyer at Chase Manhattan Morgan Bank, Dental Assistant at a family dental practice, Data Entry/Receptionist at Aorangi Orthopaedic Centre, and Administrative Assistant at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit.

Currently, I’m the Office Manager at Precision Orthopaedics. I work part-time, in the background, focusing on operational support, system improvements, and streamlining workflow. I, also, provide coverage for the office, as needed. I love being a part of a team that values care and efficiency and I’m passionate about our patients and ensuring smooth practice operations.

Outside of work, I enjoy life on our lifestyle section, caring for animals and staying connected to nature. Supporting others—whether people or animals—is one of my greatest sources of fulfillment.
